Paris burns as the riots continue

11 NIGHTS OF VIOLENCE / 15 CITIES AFFECTED / 800 ARRESTS / 3,500 VEHICLES BURNED / 2,300 ADDITIONAL POLICE ON PATROL - A government as "out of control" as the rioters!
110505_france_rioting5.jpeg.jpgAs the riots continue in France, Jacques Chirac has called a meeting in an attempt to stop the unrest. The report from the New York Times offers some very disturbing information regarding the riots. It turns out that someone is making explosive devices and providing hoods for the rioters so that they can cause millions of dollars worth of damage to cars (over 1000 have been burned), buildings, including school buildings and other infrastructure. There are now riots and fires all over France.

Even at first blush one might think that the rioting is spontaneous, but it's becoming crystal clear that the rioting and rioters are being coordinated. The parents of the boys that died, supposedly the reason for the rioting in the first place, have appealed for calm. The leaders of the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim communities have also joined together in order to protest the riots. Yet the young Muslims are ignoring these appeals for calm, in favor of what appears to be a radical agenda.

The north African Muslim community's excuse for the riots, the electrocution of two Muslim youth, is absolutely ludicrous. The riots began on October 27 when the two Muslim teenagers ran from police who were checking identification papers - why they ran is as yet unclear, because the police did not chase them. But evidently the teenagers thought they were being chased; they eventually hid in an electrical power sub-station, where they accidentally electrocuted themselves.

But the French government is as out of control on this as the rioters. It reminds me of a saying about Nero: "Nero fiddles whilst Rome burns". And it appears that the French government is "fiddling" around with politically correctness, juxtaposed with indecision and political ineptitude. More needs to be done by the authorities to bring these militant youths under control and to find the perpetrators of these riots. It is as if the Islamofacists have changed their tactics in France and have decided to follow the Intifada style that has been the key to the disturbances in the Gaza strip.

If these people are so disenchanted with their lives in France then they should return to their own country. They have no right to damage the property of others in this way. The courts should not be lenient with any of them and yes the no tolerance of crime should remain in these districts. From what I have been reading the crime rate in the area where the riots began was already high and the police had been refusing to patrol the area. By taking that attitude the French have in fact generated this problem and assisted in the exacerbation of the riots.

All the same, they need to find the group that is in fact behind the riots. No one with any sense and an intelligent ear to the ground can accept that any of this is spontaneous. There is just too much organization behind the scenes.
