Merry Christmas (Updated)

Topics: Faith

In one of my rare moments away from the computer tonight, I watched Bill O'Riley on Fox address the issue of stores choosing to include or exclude "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Hanukkah" in their greetings - both in their stores and in their advertising.

O'Riley believes that stores that do not use "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Hanukkah" will be affected on their bottom line, because a majority of people in America are either Christian or Jewish, and are tired of the anti-Christian, anti-Jewish push by atheists and minority faiths (and of course primarily by the communist-inspired ACLU) to diminish the expression of faith in our nation.

I thought about this last year, but I've decided that the time has come for me to check the ads, including print, radio, and TV, and the stores or chains that exclude Hunukkah and Christmas, DO NOT GET MY BUSINESS.

A single failure to greet me with Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, will cause me to remind them of their failure, and promptly LEAVE THE STORE. Anyone else willing to join me?

If so, pass the idea around. We've got plenty of time to ruin the CHRISTMAS and HANUKKAH season for the stores that don't consider our business important. This isn't a boycott, it's deciding which businesses want our business, and which just don't give a damned. In other words, it's OUR CHOICE!!!

Update: Reader "Tom" (comments below - hat tip, Tom) says that he's already one step ahead of me .... "No Christmas shopping at WalMart....Sent an email to WalMart expressing my concerns....reply was basically...We don't care....We have 138 million customers every day....make that 137,999,999."

Perhaps we should start a list of stores that don't give a damned about Christmas, just our money!

I hate to agree with O'Reily on anything, but I think has it right on this one

Yea!!! Thank you, Richard. I don't watch O'Reilly, but I'm glad you brought this up. Let's have a list!
