Jordon demonstrates against Terror

Topics: War on Terror - the issues.

The King of Jordan has vowed to take the war on terror to those responsible for the hotel blasts that have killed at least 57 people and wounded hundreds of others. There have been at least 12 arrests and scores of others have been questioned.

The border between Iraq and Jordan was closed for a short time and has since been re-opened after security devices were installed.

The people of Jordan have remained firm in the face of the terror that has struck at their very soul. They took to the streets to demonstrate against the perpetrators of the violence that has struck at their way of life.

The king of Jordan has it right when he stated that anyone who waits with his wife in the lobby and intentionally joins a wedding party for the purpose of murdering all of the innocent guests are insane. I agree with that statement.

By striking at the Jordanian people in this way, the leader of Al Qaeda has made a substantial enemy of the people of Jordan. The Jordanians recognize that innocent people have been murdered, and they are mature enough to recognize that Israeli agents were not responsible. Interestingly, the officials of Jordan have been quick to point out that those responsible are not Jordanian, even though once again Yahoo news also has it wrong about the nationality of Zarqawi. He is Palestinian, not Jordanian. The Jordan government has already imprisoned him once over the attempt to bomb the same hotels in the past. Since he was released he has been responsible for the deaths of thousands of people.

Why is it that I am reminded of Adolf Hitler? Is it not strange that the leaders of Al Qaeda have a similar psyche to that of Hitler? Is it not even stranger that the people of Germany allowed Hitler to come to power because of their own malaise at the time, and we are seeing the same thing in the Middle East? Just food for thought.
