From MSNBC News.
The Radisson, Hyatt and Days Inn in Amman, Jordan were hit simultaneously by bombs. Some 60 dead and over 120 injured. The majority of victims were Jordanian. No one has claimed reponsibility so far.Steve Harrigan of Fox News reported that these hotels are primarily used by Americans traveling in the area. Interestingly, Iraqis frequent these same hotels as much as Americans.
Apparently, security was lax up to about a few hours ago.
These bombings broadens the area of security. Complacency has been the norm in Amman. We have to realize that Al-Queda is in Amman. Jamie McIntyre from Washington, DC assigns responsibility to Al-Queda for the bombings on CNN.Breaking News claims that Jordan was an easy target for Al-Queda. Jordan is an ally to the United States and is at peace with Israel. This bombing was expected sooner or later.Wolf Blitzer interviewed a few experts on terrorism. They selected a few terror groups influenced by Al-Queda that have it in for the King of Jordan.Wulf Blitzer reported that the Radisson Hotel had the most damage. One bomb exploded within a wedding party. Once again, complacency allowed the terroroists free access to the hotels. None of the hotels has any metal detectors.
Deputy Prime Minister of Jordan reports 67 dead! Many of the dead and wounded are very young and Jordanian.CNN Breaking News claimed that the wounded exceeds 150 persons. US officials are saying that the bombers were suicide bombers.
They claimed that it is impossible to completely (100%) prevent suicide bombers. Jordan did not have adequate security in place in order to prevent these attacks. Reflection allows us to envision similar attacks in the USA. US officials claim that unless we check all baggage entering malls, we can expect to experience similar bombings in the future.
The US knows of no American casualties, so far.
US officials stress the importance of human intelligence. There is a veiled dissatisfaction with the Clinton Administration for depleting our human intelligence.

CNN Breaking News: reveals that one theory is that in Jordan the way they wrote their dates would make this bombing on 9 November 2005 or 911 -- 2005.
The bomb in the Radisson Hotel was hit by a car bomb. The other hotels were suicide bombers.
The bombings fit Al-Queda's Zarquawi's modus operendi.Amman Long Viewed As Prime Terror Target
Suspicion immediately fell on al-Zarqawi; Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher said al-Zarqawi was a "prime suspect."- end of updateA counterterrorism official in Washington said previously that U.S. intelligence indicated al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden had been in contact with al-Zarqawi urging him to conduct attacks outside Iraq.
Al-Zarqawi is most known for devastating suicide bombings in Iraq that have been staged by his group, al-Qaida in Iraq. But he has been accused of terrorist activities elsewhere, especially in Jordan.
He was sentenced to death in absentia by a Jordanian military court for the 2002 slaying of U.S. diplomat Laurence Foley in Amman. He also is accused of involvement in a plot to blow up an Amman hotel in 1999 and of this August's rocket attack on a U.S. Navy warship in the Jordanian port of Aqaba that killed one Jordanian soldier.
The son of Palestinian refugees, al-Zarqawi was born in Jordan, grew up in the Jordanian town of Zarqa and traveled to Afghanistan in 1989. He was arrested in Jordan in 1992 for trying to overthrow the monarchy and spent seven years in prison.
On his release, he allegedly took part in the 1999 attempt to blow up the Radisson SAS Hotel in Amman one of the hotels bombed Wednesday. He fled Jordan and returned to Afghanistan, where U.S. officials say he set up terrorist training camps.
Other Islamic extremists also are angry with Jordan's leaders, however.
