Clinton to Israel: Iran Is Not A Threat! (Updated)
Topics: Political News and commentaries
What? I'd ask if Bubba has lost his mind, but I think Hillary is with him so I'll cut him a little slack. If I was near Hillary much of the time, I don't think I could think straight either (nothing personal here, she just seems to have too much of a consistent hidden agenda, for my taste) .
To make matters worse, he made these outlandish statements at my favorite hotel in Jerusalem, the King David , which is across from the YMCA and just down the street from my favorite piano bar (at least it use to be there when I frequented the KD years ago). I use to like hamburgers, and on Friday and Saturday nights it was hard to get one at the King David, so I'd trot down (left from the KD as you faced the Y) , and listen to music while I chomped down on burgers and drinks (even listened to Herman Wouk's sons sing there together, one year around Christmas time).
But of course, this isn't the news. The news is Bubba's "uninformed and less than astute" remarks. For a very intelligent and talented man to make them, he had to be either "on something" or have a "well hidden agenda," one that is much less apparent than Hillary's usual bent.
Ex-president Bill Clinton urged Israelis over the weekend not to overreact to comments by newly elected Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recommending that Israel be "wiped off the map." Speaking at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on Saturday, Clinton acknowledged that the remark was "outrageous," but he cautioned that the Iranian leader was "not elected because of his hatred for Israel or the West.""He was elected because of the economic distress of ordinary Iranians, and which he promised to relieve by giving them financial assistance," Clinton explained, according to the Jerusalem Post.
He warned Israel not to act unilaterally when reacting to terrorist threats, saying that "true peace and security can only come through principled compromise." READ MORE...
If I remember correctly, wasn't it just a few short weeks ago, on Oct. 27, that Iran's President Ahmadinejad told a "World Without Zionism" conference that Israel is a "disgraceful blot" on the Middle East that should be "wiped off the map."
And what about the statement that Ahmadinijad was "not elected because of his hatred for Israel or the West, but was elected because of the economic distress of ordinary Iranians?
He's not talking about this election, is he?
As to the matter of Ahmadinijad not being elected for his hate of the West, isn't it clear that the majority of politically active Iranians (as defined by being at least interested enough to vote) eschewed moderation in favor of the conservative hard line. They made that choice with full knowledge of what would follow as domestic policy because they've been there before.
With all the availabe evidence negating his remarks, I don't think Bubba wants us or the Israelis to know about Google! But of course, neither do the rest of the Democrats.
Yet, there's so much more! As a matter of fact, 51,890 more inputs that say Bubba is nuts to make such statements, especially at the King David, where everyone there knows better.
I suggest that after Bubba learns to use Google and reads the first 100 links or so on Ahmadinejad, his election, and the hatred of the West of both he and his voters, Bubba might then want to read, "Ahmadinejad's terror policy must be fought." He also might want to inquire about all that "Fat Iranian Cash Contracts for Terrorists to Hit American Troops and Israeli Civilians."
Update: As though running his mouth about Iran not being a threat to Israel wasn't enough, "In The Bullpen" has it that Bubba subsequently hoped on over to the Arabs and dribbled to them that Iraq was a "Big Mistake." It's damned nice to know that when the entire world is embroiled in a war against Islamofascism and terrorism, we've got the full support of all Americans, especially our former presidents. (clue - This is one of those "Not" jokes)
But of course that really doesn't apply to Bubba and many of the Dems on the left.
