Algerians jailed for eating lunch
Topics: Understanding IslamAn Algerian court has sent four men to jail for eating lunch in a restaurant during the 'holy' month of Ramadan [sic(k)].
The three offenders were picked up in the town of Bejaia, some 260km east of Algiers, found guilty of conspicuous contempt of religion, and sentenced to three months each. The restaurant manager was given six months in prison [also sic(k)].
Jail, for "conspicuous contempt" of religion?
Islamic law is to freedom, what suicide bombing is to life. Both events result in a death, cherished by Muslims more than life.
And both say a lot about Islamic family values.
