ACLU bigots at it again - Prayers before committee meeting in Georgia are too Christian!
Topics: Political News and commentariesWhat is it about Jesus Christ that the ACLU finds so offensive? As Cobb county officials point out, the exact prayers given in the first Congress explicitly referred to Jesus Christ, and if I'm not mistaken, Christ appeared on our planet almost 2,000 years before the ACLU was ever dreamed up (the ACLU was founded in 1920, and at the roots of it's begining was a close association with the Communist party).
And there lies a primary reason that their attacks are designed to establish a social order (or more appropriately destroy the existing order) and customs that advance communistic ideas, ideals, and objectives. They are not only anti-Christian, they are against everything that has to do with traditional foundations, family values, faith, and the very fabric of the family in society.
And Christianity, or Judism, or Hindu, or any other faith goes against their agenda.
Saying that invocations made in the name of Jesus have been around for centuries, Cobb County officials said a lawsuit against the county to stop it from making "overtly Christian" prayers before meetings was unnecessary."As a matter of historical fact, the exact prayers given in the first Congress explicitly referred to Jesus Christ," according to a 50-page legal brief the county filed Tuesday.
In addition, as recently as July 19, a prayer that said "in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ," was made at the opening of the U.S. House of Representatives, the brief said.
The Georgia Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and seven Cobb County residents filed the lawsuit in August. The ACLU claims the prayers made before commission meetings are too Christian.
The ACLU said in the lawsuit that one prayer ended, "in the name of Jesus our savior," and dozens more since 2003 mentioned Jesus. The ACLU is not challenging the commission's right to pray before meetings.
But Cobb Commission Chairman Sam Olens, named in the lawsuit, said the prayers do meet the requirements for the separation of church and state and said the county feels "very strongly" that the lawsuit is improper.
The case that the ACLU should be named as the Anti-Christian Liberties Union was strengthened again back in April of this year when they were "caught red-handed" reversing their support of a prior legal decision when a legal precedent used to gain recognition of a student homosexual group, supported by the ACLU, subsequently supported the rights of a Christian club.
Being anti-Christian implies that they intend to specifically attack Christianity as an end of itself, but whether being anti-Christian is their intent, or simply the effect of their attacks on family and social values, be they Christian, Jew, Hindu or any other faith - they are in effect anti-faith, and the affected resutlt (by the ACLU) is the same. As Roger Baldwin (a co-founder of the ACLU) said of the goals of the ACLU:
"I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately, for abolishing the state itself... I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the properties class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal. I don't regret being part of the communist tactic. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the communists wanted, and I traveled the United Front road to get it.As John Bambenek points out in his piece at Blogcritics:
the ACLU attacks the traditional foundation and the very fabric of the family in society. This is why they fight against parental notification of abortions, school choice, and the parent's role in educating their children. In fact, they attack traditional forms of authority beyond that of the state, affecting the role of religion, any religion. In communist nations, the state is the highest authority and all needs and actions must be made in connection with what is best for the state. That is why you can talk about purges and gulags and communists don't flinch. Communism requires them. And Christianity, or Judism, or Hindu, or any other faith isn't a part of it. In short, they aren't anti-Christian in intent, they are anti-Christian in effect. And since America is essentially a Judeo-Christian nation, and predominantly Christian, Christianity has become their principle target. Now, the ACLU needs to become the principle target of the people of faith - with fervant dedication and determination to eleminate their influence upon American society.Their attacks on Christianity aren't designed to eradicate Christianity, per se. They are designed to establish a social order (or more appropriately destroy the existing order) and customs that advance their communistic ideas, ideals, and objectives.
