Who Says Blogging Doesn't Pay?
Topics: BlogosphereYou've probably heard of engadget, the popular consumer technology blog, or Autoblog, the premier site for the latest news on the auto industry.
Both are part of Weblogs, Inc., a network of some 85 weblogs focused on niche topics ranging from health to gadgets. With roughly 100 paid authors, the blogs generate several thousand dollars of daily ad revenue. In July, 2005 the network made $2,335/day from Google Adsense - just one of their revenue streams - and is reportedly pulling in over $2 million per year.
Hopefully the bloggers that sent the network to the top had stock options because the company just sold to AOL for $25 million.
