That Zarqawi Letter Is Real

Rita Katz writing at NRO says that the arguments over that October 8 Ayman al-Zawahiri letter suggest that we don't really know our enemy. The MSM jumped to question the letter's authenticity, as did some U.S. government officials and experts who also doubted the credibility of the letter. However, as Katz explains in her article, they may have jumped to the wrong conclusion. The greetings in the passage in question, if anything, strongly confirm the letter's authenticity. What all these pundits are sometimes missing is a familiarity with the vernacular of the jihadi community.
