Hawaii To Loose $40M in funding
Topics: National NewsOperation Offset is considering eliminating some $40 Million, designated for, as they put it, "various health and education programs for Native Hawaiians." The $40 Million is already on the list for clipping in the US House of Representatives.
In justifying the cut, the article refers to the Native Hawaiians as a racial group and not a tribe. Raced-based programs affront the constitution.
Aloha All welcomes the initiative to cut the race-based funding, citing their illegality and immorality.
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) laments the funding being placed on the list for elimination.
Interestingly, despite the length of the article, no attempt is made to identify the programs in questions other than the vague: "... various health and educational programs ...." It reads like they were nonsense programs designed to ingratiate the affluent Native Hawaiians (the aristocracy!).
