Choice in China
Topics: Life IssuesA blind Chinese activist trying to call attention to forced abortion and other abuses of China's one-child policy was beaten and left bleeding on the street.
Chen Guangcheng, whose whistleblowing in the eastern province of Shandong earlier this year prompted the government to sack and detain several officials, was found bleeding on a street in his home village of Dongshigu, according to a Wednesday news report on Radio Free Asia.
Chen blew open the forced abortion and sterilization scandal in August when he conducted an interview with Time magazine. He provided details of some 7,000 people who had been victimized by population control officials.
