Five Australians remain in a critical condition after being evacuated to Darwin hospital. The Royal Australian Air Force responded to the emergency situation by sending two Hercules aircraft equipped for a Medivac of victims. The patients who are in a critical condition have severe woulds to the abdomen.
The bombers loaded their bombs with shrapnel, ensuring that the victims received massive injuries of the kind to be expected in a war situation.
You can read about the evacuation of the latest Bali bomb victims here.
Australian tourists, shaken by the bombing have begun packing up an returning to Australia. They have been shattered by the experience and many have vowed that they will not return to Bali.
There are many questions to be raised as to why Bali has been the victim yet again of an Islamofacist attack. There is no reason for the attack. It has been rumoured that there were workers who refused to turn up for work prior to the attack because of their prior knowledge that something was about to happen. The Bali police have already begun taking people into custody, but they have failed again to capture the Malaysian mastermind of these attacks.
The methodology for these attacks is very reminiscent of the London and Madrid bombings. The explosives were strapped to the suicide bombers and there is talk that the accomplices set off the bombs through the use of mobile phones. This is the kind of device that was used in both London and Madrid, and is a sign that the person who made up the bombs had been trained in the same style as the London and Madrid bombers.
Was this attack aimed at the Australian tourists? There is an element of doubt as to whether the Australian tourists were the target, after all there were Korean and Japanese tourists amongst the dead. The majority of the dead are Balinese or Indonesian, indicating that the attack was meant to harm the Indonesian, and in particular the Balinese economy. The economy of Bali had become fragile as a result of the previous bombing that took place on October 12, 2003. The tourists had been advised to stay away from Bali because of the threat of further terror attacks. It is only within the last year that the tourists had begun to return to Bali. Since the native Balinese are Hindu and not Muslim it is probable that the real target of the attack is the Bali economy.
The Indonesian and Australian police have begun the task of sifting through the sand, looking for further clues regarding the attacks. However, what we do know is that these attacks bear the fingerprint of both JI and Al-Qaeda. So once again the lives of those who are considered to be Infidel have been put in jeopardy by Islamofacist zealots.
