Taxman Favors Native Hawaiian
Topics: National NewsIt would appear that Gary Kurokawa, Real Property Assessment Division head, has a real integrity problem. He taxes some property or non-Native Hawaiians at 1400% of assessed value, yet he fails to tax property owned by Native Hawaiians at all. Now, tell me a Congressional investigation isn't in order for the Real Property Assessment Division of the Department of Fiscal Services.
For that matter, another division of the Department of Fiscal Services, the Liquor Commission, just retired its commissioner who supervised seven years of extortion, racketeering and bribery (eight liquor inspectors are now in prison) with the excuse that he was only in the position for seven years. Reads like to me that the entire Department of Fiscal Services is in dire need of an audit and in-depth investigation.
