Suspended Posting

Apologies are in order for the suspended posting up to today, 12:50 PM EDT. My son unexpectedly flew in from Iraq and surprised me, and although I was the "duty posting guy," I did a "carpe diem" and took some time to be with him. Since he's awaiting an email to go back to Iraq, again, at any moment, I felt it to be important that I grabbed some time with him while I could.

Interestingly, my son's gear - including his body armor, helmet, etc., was lost in airline transit (his gear is shipped with him wherever he goes). He's hoping that his gear arrives in time to return to Iraq with him. With any luck, he could have a couple of weeks or more before returning, but on the other hand, it could be tomorrow.

Considering his extremely dangerous assignments, he seems somewhat relaxed on the outside, but I sense an anxiousness to return to Iraq while he's still "got game" (alert - good reaction time, aware)
