No Shame In The MSM: 'The federal response to Katrina was not as portrayed'

Topics: Follies of the Mainstream Media

From Jack Kelly at Post-Gazette.com via Hugh Hewitt comes the real facts about Katrina. Once again, the MSM has completely distorted the truth, this time about the federal response to Katrina, and in doing so has framed that distortion to suit their own political agenda:

Journalists who are long on opinions and short on knowledge have no idea what is involved in moving hundreds of tons of relief supplies into an area the size of England in which power lines are down, telecommunications are out, no gasoline is available, bridges are damaged, roads and airports are covered with debris, and apparently have little interest in finding out.
So they libel as a "national disgrace" the most monumental and successful disaster relief operation in world history.

Also from Hugh,

The Kelly conclusion will eventually dominate coverage of this storm. Kelly represents American journalism's left brain finally kicking in after the trauma of the past two weeks.

And the best of American journalism's right brain is also beginning to appear. Nicholas Lemann's essay on his home town of New Orleans is must reading. As is Matt Labash's amazing piece in the Weekly Standard.

After an epic disaster, everything takes a couple of weeks to get close to normal, including American journalism. The hysteria is subsiding with the flood waters. Thank God.

To which all of us can only add, Amen!

I think the comments and attitude of Pat Robertson are a disgrace to the character and life of Jesus. He apparently has never studied Jesus enough to know that he associated with the most poor and displaced people of his day. When your life is over;Mr.Robertson, do not be surprized to hear Jesus say to you, " I NEVER KNEW YOU."
