HarryTho On Aruba Redux: Dutch Consulate Allows Defendents To Escape To The Netherlands(Update)

Topics: Natalee Holloway

Some 24 Brazilians, girls 12 to 18, who were used in child pornography, had filed legal action against two Dutchmen in Brazil. The two men were subsequently sentenced to eight and 12 years by a court in Brazil in December 2003 for making 9,000 nude photos of underage girls.

While on bail awaiting incarceration, the Dutch consulate in Rio de Janeiro allowed them to return to Holland under emergency passports.

The two men were also involved in a child pornography case in one of their own cities in which they circulated child pornography in Russia.

It seems that what happened on Aruba is more a practice than an event based upon serious judgement.

Update: Since we're on the topic of Aruba, where Natalee disappeared, and the Netherlands, where Joran van der Sloot ran away from, there's a post at Scared Monkeys in which they write that despite the lack of media attention or the fact that all suspects have been released from custody, searches do continue in Aruba in the investigation of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. They report that yesterday divers searched the coast line of the Northwest shore behind the California Lighthouse, however the search revealed no new evidence.
