From the online edition of the Pine Bluff Commercial - CONCERT TO BENEFIT HOLLOWAY FAMILY:
A benefit concert for the family of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 717 W. 32nd Ave.
Holloway has been missing on the island of Aruba since May 30 and intensive efforts to solve the mystery of her disappearance have been unsuccessful.
Natalee is the granddaughter of Pine Bluff resident, Ann Reynolds. Natalee's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, is a 1978 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.Hat tip - Scared Monkeys
Music will be provided by Nashville recording artists, "Downhere," a Christian rock group from Canada.
According to event organizer, Bruce Roberts, Twitty has indicated she will attend the benefit. The concert is free, Roberts said, but donations will be accepted to help offset expenses incurred by the family as they continue the search for Natalee.
Details: Call (870) 718-3673.
Scared Monkeys is also reporting that the prosecution's appeal motion to overturn the release of Joran and the Kalpoes will be decided on Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Also, the prosecutor has asked for DNA samples from Joran and the Kalpoes.
If the appeal motion is granted ... though unlikely ... Joran would have to return from Holland and serve his remaining 30 days, and the Kalpoes would have to serve their remaining 8 days. I believe, it is safe to conclude that it is unlikely that the prosecutor's motions will prevail, unless she has presented startling new evidence. The only other consideration is that the release was all a ruse to confuse the minds of the suspects.
I found no other confirmation on this. However, I was aware that an appeal motion was field by the prosecution to overturn the release of the suspects. If the appeal prevails, then what I have written should follow.
Maybe Joe Mammana is pressuring the Aruban government into submission:
(...) In an interview with Rita Cosby on Thursday night, philanthropist, Joe Mammana, said what is assured to put a fire back in the case of missing teen Natalee Holloway
(...) Rita, one last thing. I just want the people of Aruba to know that Natalee Holloway's mom, Beth Twitty and Joe Mammana are coming back to Aruba. Hell is coming with them, we did not forget Natalee Holloway
(...) A statement that energized the discouraged onlookers of the Natalee Holloway case since last weekends release of all suspects by an Aruban Judge.

Can someone tell me why the Kalpoes and Joran van der Sloot are not in jail and being tried for "aggravated kidnapping"?
It is a known fact that they kidnapped Natalee and it is my understanding that vd Sloot confessed to unwanted sexual contact in the presence of her father, her step-father, two Aruban Policemen, and possibly Charles Croes.

Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers have never committed the acts that you mention in your post. There was no kidnapping. On all credible accounts, Natalee Holloway accompanied Joran van der Sloot and the Kalpoes on her own free will. The main witnesses, the Kalpoe brothers, attest that Natalee was quite friendly with Joran van der Sloot in the backseat of their car. Second, Joran never confessed to unwanted sexual contact with Natalee. Joran admitted to engaging in consensual sexual contact with Natalee.
The comments of unwanted sexual contact and kidnapping emanate from Natalee's family's interpretation of the events. Their interpretations come from Natalee's family's appraisal of her behavior in Mountain Brook, Alabama, as they understood it to be. Unfortunately, the media, via former lawyers, has expended tremendous effort promulgating this chimera of sexual abduction to the point where almost everyone believes it.
Joran and the Kalpoes are not in jail, because there is no evidence that a crime has even been committed.
