Author Marc Siegel's 'False' Sense of Security
Topics: Political News and commentaries
I learned of Siegel's "interview" on the Daly Show via an email about this post at "The Malcontent," watched the video, and found Siegel to be just another moonbat being provided a forum for bashing the administration by yet another liberal in the MSM. In short, I was disappointed that there was no beef, only dressing. I even took the time to read Bob Kerrey's review of Siegel's book and found it to be plain vanilla window dressing for Siegel's anti-administration left-wing stance that terrorism is no threat, all our troops are in Iraq, and we worry too much. As for terrorism and the Islamic agenda to make you and me mosque-attenders - not a problem.
You'll see what I mean when you watch the video yourself. While Siegel briefly discusses media-derived hype and scare mongering, he's all too quick to blame the government - THIS government, and he makes a point to be make that crystal clear, with Daly's help.
As is pointed out at The Malcontent, the cover photo is indeed taken from a true false alarm: the evacuation of the U.S. Capitol when a plane carrying Kentucky's governor bound for the Reagan funeral wandered into restricted airspace with a broken transponder. But the cause for the panic was genuine.
On the other hand, Siegel isn't, he's nothing more than another Bush basher that uses some valid issues to twist into an instrument to further his own personal agenda. The Malcontent does an excellent job of undressing Siegel's rather poor facade of having something of value to contribute to our nation's dialogue on issues of security.
Be sure to read this important post...
