Utah May House 1,000 Hurricane Refugees
Topics: Natural DisastersGov. Jon Huntsman said Wednesday that Utah is ready to accept up to 1,000 people displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Apparently, the state of Louisiana asked for help housing the refugees, and the State of Utah responded. The state can provide such basic services as shelter, food, clothing and schooling for children. Also, the Utah departments of health, public safety and homeland security also are prepared to assist in rescue, recovery and rebuilding efforts.
Let's hope that other states, AND NATIONS, also jump in to help the victims of the Katrina disaster.
