U.S. Says Some Bombs Used in Iraq Are Made in Iran
Topics: IraqAnd the Iranians want us to trust them not to develop atomic weapons?
The NYT is reporting today that many of the new, more sophisticated roadside bombs used to attack American and government forces in Iraq have been designed in Iran and shipped in from there. The big question, why there is this unusual cooperation between Iranian Shiites and Iraqi Sunnis to drive out American forces. It makes little sense given the increasing violence between the sects in Iraq. Even more disturbing, there's a possible Hezbollah connection. Could the arms shipments more likely be the work of criminals, arms traffickers or splinter insurgent groups?
