Late Night HarryTho Natalee Holloway Update and Commentary

Topics: Natalee Holloway

Looks like the AP scooped everybody today on the Natalee Holloway case. Nancy Grace only mentioned that Joran and his running mates were in court today. As I understand, decisions on the motions before the court were delayed by the judge.

Attorney for Joran van der Sloot stated that the prosecution entered two allegations of a sexual nature; however, those allegations have been in the file for two months. He did not consider those allegations as new evidence. The prosecution could not be reached for comment.

The judge is expected to decide by 3 September 2005.
It doesn't look like anything spectacular was revealed today via the media.

From two of our fellow bloggers we have...

Dan at Riehl World View has - "Natalee Holloway: Report From Aruba." Dan writes that "while there is no confirmation that the judge who must determine the short-term fate of Joran Van der Sloot has reached a decision, it does appear that any additional charges of rape against the boy may not hold up." Dan goes on to say that earlier in the week he was informed that "a previous girlfriend of the now eighteen year-old suspect may have been the basis for that charge, but it was also suggested that the charge was not accurate or able to be substantiated by the facts."

Scared Monkeys has "Aruban Judge Delays Ruling in Van der Sloot Detention."
