Dhimmitude at Virginia Tech: Classes segregated for Saudi students
Topics: DhimmitudeFor today's most outlandish act of dhimmitude, we go to the venerable Robert Spencer, who writes at Dhimmi Watch - "When American troops went to Saudi Arabia, they had to avoid all overt practice of Christianity or Judaism. Why? Because that's their culture, and we have to respect it. And now when Saudis come to Virginia Tech, they're given gender-segregated classes. Why? Because that's their culture, and we have to respect it. So their culture trumps ours both in Saudi Arabia and in the United States."
To which I just can't help but react - NO WAY! But unfortunately, the Virginia Tech Hoakies Dhimmis bend over for the Saudi Muslims, and in effect, spit in the face of American culture and equality.
Spencer says that this reminds him of the British colonial official who outlawed suttee in India. "But it's our culture," an Indian protested, whereupon the official replied: "Yes, and it's our culture to jail those who encourage its practice."
Quite correctly, Spencer points out that no one today has enough spine to stand up for gender equality or freedom of conscience in the face of Sharia. And that my friends, is dangerous in light of the Islamic agenda to Islamicize our country!
Dare I ask why, here in America, we must "respect THEIR culture? What's wrong with impressing OUR culture on the Saudis. They came to America, OUR nation, knowing fully OUR cultural norms and freedoms. If they did so on their own accord, they did so expecting to have to comply to the norms of OUR culture. So why does Virginia Tech bend over to Islamic traditions and cultural norms, and ignore American freedoms? The answer is dhimmitude, and money. They are weak-kneed liberals, and want to attract Saudi students for their riyals.
If you have the stomach for it, read "Classes for Saudis separated: Gender-specific classes are given at Tech this summer for people from Saudi Arabia," from The Roanoke Times.
