Cindy Sheehan Debacle Heats Up - Updated

Family tensions following the death of a child often lead to divorce. In the case of Cindy Sheehan, whose ongoing vigil outside President Bush's Texas home has become a public spectacle, her husband cited "irreconcilable differences" and pulled the plug.

Frankly, if she were not undermining our troops and freedom in Iraq it would be a lot easier to feel sorry for her. She lost her son to terrorists while he fought for what he believed in - his ideals - which she now (suddenly) opposes.

Her story failed to withstand even a minimal level of scrutiny (more here) and is being manipulated by left-wing political opportunists.

She has gained David Duke's support (ouch!) and is helping the beleaguered Air America Radio network which is apparently delighted by the distraction from their ongoing financing scandal.

Yet, members of Sheehan's own family are blasting Cindy's efforts, claiming she's trying to promote her personal agenda "at the expense of her son's good name and reputation."

As she continues her anti-war protest, Cindy Sheehan is labeling President Bush a "maniac" and a "lying bastard," and she's vowing not to pay her federal income tax. The Common Voice has more great quotes from Cindy.
