Pipes on 'British Opinion Surveys from an Islamist Hell'

Daniel Pipes offers up a stiking correlation between a British government report recently leaked to London's Times and a new opinion survey commissioned by the Daily Telegraph:

"It is hard to say which is the most alarming of these many worrisome statistics, but two stand out. That less than three-quarters of Muslims in Britain indicate they would tell the police about an impending terrorist attack raises grave doubts about the Blair government's tactic of getting Muslims to police their own community. That one-third of Muslims do not accept British society and want to end it, presumably to pave the way for an Islamic order, casts comparable doubts on Britain's much-vaunted multicultural ideal."

Like I've repeatedly said previously, our enemy is Islamofascism AND those that encourage and or support it. Right now, it's begining to look like it's going to be very hard to sort out Islamofascists from ordinary moderate Muslims, and it looks like the number of Islamofascists includes a majority of Muslims that regularly attend mosques. A recent study of Palestinian Muslims showed that the more often a Muslim attended mosques, the more radical his and her beliefs.

"Private religious devotion to Islam, measured by frequency of prayer, was unrelated to the odds of a Palestinian Muslim supporting the use of suicide bombing," Ginges said.

"In contrast, communal religious devotion, measured by the frequency of Mosque attendance, was a good predictor of support for suicide terrorism, even after controlling for a wide variety of factors, including frequency of prayer, age, economic situation, gender, refugee status, and attitudes about the peace process and the formation of a Palestinian state based on Muslim law, the Shari'a."

I suspect that we are going to find that this also holds true in the West.
