On 'Stem Cell Agenda Becoming Clearer'
Topics: Life IssuesHave you wondered why advocates of embryonic stem cell research are pushing so hard? Have you wondered why ESC advocates pushed for the much narrower federal bill passed by the House? Could it be because they want Americans to get used to the idea of destroying human embryos in research? Might that not be "a small step to get the public to accept what they really want--creating human life in order to destroy it?"
It seems that we've all been down that slippery slope before. It started with abortion, a "woman's right to chose," to hell with the kid, his or her choice to live doesn't count. Then it was the pseudo right-to-die movement which ended up taking away the right-to-live of Terri Schiavo and others, and now threatens every elderly, infirmed, and disabled person in America. Now, ESC advocates want us to cuddle-up to the idea of just killing a few unborn children now so we can move toward "therapeutic cloning." In other words, creating life in order to kill it. Think not?
Think again. Last year, California voters approved $3 billion in state funding for stem-cell research, including experiments on embryos created through therapeutic cloning. ESC advocates are busy trying to convince the public that human life just isn't all that important, and certainly isn't sacred.
Marlowe's Shade, in "Stem Cell Agenda Becoming Clearer," believes that we are seeing:
"the same hallmarks of the euthanasia debate in public support based not on facts but perception manipulated by a sympathetic media. As important as it is, this is not just a debate on morality. The facts are simply not getting out."
MS refers to a Chicago Tribune column by Steve Chapman as being helpful in cutting to the heart of the matter. Read more ...
