London terror suspect held: Summary Of Updates On London Bombing (with week in pictures)
Topics: TerrorismHere's my pick of today's links to the very latest news media coverage on the London bombings :
London terror suspect arrested: A SENIOR cleric was arrested in Pakistan as the British Government signalled a crackdown on extremists and jihadi recruiters under a range of anti-terror offences announced last night. The head of an Islamic religious school was among four men seized as part of the response by President Musharraf to the London bombings.

Killers may have been recruited at youth centre: One youth worker reported to police his suspicions that the Hamara Youth Access Point had been exploited as a front for the education, radicalisation and recruitment of young Muslims.
Muslim leaders in call for action: A joint statement of condemnation came as 22 leaders and scholars met at the Islamic Cultural Centre, in London. But Britain's highest ranking Asian police officer, Tarique Ghaffur, says Muslims and their leaders must do more than just condemn the bombings.
The Trail - How the police tracked down the London bombers: Police have traced three of the four bombers back to West Yorkshire. They were first alerted when the mother of Hasib Hussain, 18, rang the casualty line to report him missing after the blasts. He had told his family he was going on a day trip to London and had not been heard of since.

Bomber was given House of Commons tour by a Labour MP: ONE of the London suicide bombers was allowed to tour the Houses of Parliament as the guest of an MP months after police and intelligence services became aware of his links to another alleged bomb plot, it emerged last night.
British official tells Muslims to stand up to terrorism: Britain's most senior policeman called on the country's Muslim community yesterday to end its "denial" about extremists in its midst and to engage actively in the fight against terrorism.
London terror search goes global: In another sign of the investigation's widening global reach, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair said authorities were trying to determine whether any of the four "foot soldiers" -- suicide bombers who ranged in age from 18 to 30 -- had ties with Pakistan-based cells of the al Qaeda terror network.
Madrasas mix football with support for jihad: At one of Lahore's more radical madrasas yesterday there were several tantalising clues. The students at Jamia Naeemia were happy to share their views on global jihad, and the Muslim world's perceived struggle against the US and Britain. "If it's been declared that society is at war, and non-Muslims are killing Muslims, then Muslims have the right to kill non-Muslims," said 20-year-old Hafiz Abdul Rehman. (apparently morons like these can't tell the difference between their country fighting to end oppression and a radical religious philosophy encouraging and commiting random acts of murder and maihem)Investigators reveal London bomber's links to al-Qaeda: Shehzad Tanweer spent four or five days at the large Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) complex in Muridke, 20 miles north of the eastern city of Lahore, as first reported by The Scotsman. LeT has extensive links with al-Qaeda and a history of extreme violence.
Other news-worthy events will be updated later today.
