Evidence: Chat Between Deepak Kalpoe and Joran van der Sloot - Did Joran punch Natalee? (More Updates in extended post)Topics: Natalee Holloway

The online chat between Joran van der Sloot and Depak Kalpoe was used as evidence in Tuesday's hearings according to the following article:
ARUBA--The Court heard five appeals on Tuesday against decisions of the examining judge in the disappearance of US teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba, with the rulings scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
The appeals include four of the prosecution, of which two are against the release of the Kalpoe bothers. The other two are against lifting restrictions for the only suspect still detained, Joran van der Sloot(17), including admitting his lawyers to interrogation sessions.
Van der Sloot in turn is appealing the decision to prolong his detention. He admits he was left alone with the girl at Fishermen's Hut by the two brothers before she vanished, but says he left her there when one of the brothers picked him up later, something they both deny doing.
The Kalpoe brothers left court with their lawyers after the brief hearings. Van der Sloot left the courthouse handcuffed, hiding his face from the news media and in the custody of authorities.
David Kock, the lawyer for Satish Kalpoe, said he was confident the younger brother would remain free. "There's nothing new against my client," Kock said outside the courthouse. "I'm speculating, but perhaps the prosecution wants to appeal for PR reasons."
Kock said prosecutors had informed him Monday that they had new evidence in the case that included online chat-room conversations between Deepak Kalpoe and Van der Sloot. But Ruud Offringa, the lawyer for the older brother Deepak, told reporters the chat-room conversations were not new evidence and had been presented to a judge previously.
BlogsForNatalee will be following tomorrow's decisions.

ARUBA SUSPECT NO POKER FACE (article provided in full as emailed below, had a problem finding the NYPost.com direct link to the article and figured you would too)
JORAN Van Der Sloot, the prime suspect in the disappearance in Aruba of vacationing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway, is already guilty -- of being a lousy poker player.
Van Der Sloot, the 17-year-old son of an Aruban justice official, is being held in connection with the vanishing of 18-year-old Holloway. He was a bad bluffer and lost big during a Texas Hold 'Em tournament on the Caribbean island back in April.
Miami club impresario Tommy Pooch, who played next to Van Der Sloot for more than two hours, tells us the Dutch-born youth "was as nice as can be, but he was a terrible poker player.
"He kept buying back in, and finally he got knocked out when they stopped buy-ins," Pooch said. "He was a terrible bluffer . . . He was a young, excitable kid. He wore the sunglasses and the baseball cap like they do on TV, but even that didn't help."
Van Der Sloot must have had a habit of losing money in the poker room of the Holiday Inn-Aruba. "It seemed like everyone knew him there," Pooch said. "It was his hangout. He knew all the dealers by name. He was a local yokel."
Last week, an Aruba judge released two brothers held as suspects in the disappearance of Holloway, but ordered that Van Der Sloot be kept in custody for another 60 days. Holloway was last seen around 1 a.m. on May 30 leaving a local nightclub with Van Der Sloot and his buddies Satish Kalpoe, 18, and his brother Deepak, 21.
It was the last day of Holloway's high school graduation trip with her classmates.
This week's National Enquirer advances the theory that Van Der Sloot confessed to his father that he dumped Holloway's body in shark-infested waters after she accidentally hit her head and drowned in an Ecstasy-induced stupor on an Aruban beach.
A source told the tabloid that Van Der Sloot and Holloway went swimming together after meeting at the club and taking drugs together.
"Natalee fell, hit her head on a rock and drowned," the Enquirer quotes its source. "In a drug-and-alcohol induced panic, Joran felt he had no other choice but to dispose of Natalee's body in the sea."
Van Der Sloot has not been charged, and his family maintains his innocence.
Update - Fox: Aruban Judge: Dutch Teen Stays in Jail
No change in status.
A 17-year-old Dutch youth must remain behind bars as authorities try to find out what happened to Natalee Holloway (search), who was last seen six weeks ago leaving a nightclub, an appeals court said Thursday.
The court also ruled that there was not enough evidence to detain two Surinamese brothers in connection with the disappearance of the 18-year-old Alabama woman.
During a closed hearing Tuesday, a judge heard appeals from a defense lawyer seeking the release of Joran van der Sloot (search) -- the son of a judge in training on the island -- and from prosecutors asking for the re-arrest of Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and his brother, Satish, 18.
Van der Sloot and the Kalpoes were among the last people to see Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., before she vanished on the final night of her high-school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island. Another court ordered the release of the brothers July 4.

Thanks for all the information. Lets hope Joran is not released today, and ideally, the brothers will be re-arrested, along with Papa Sloot, and Natalee's family will be able to bring her home.

Is there a connection between Natalee and the Max De Vries case?
A 14-year-old boy was "lost at sea" in Aruba a year ago. No body was recovered. Amigoe.com now reports that there was a siting of the boy in Brazil.
" The hotel employee has again confirmed to the Amigoe today that the police had informed the hotel that Max de Vries is probably alive. The boy is supposedly in Brazil. The American Insurance Company had asked the Aruban police for more information. "

It would seem obvious that Natalee Holloway was cast into the sea by either Van der Sloot or with the Kalpoe Bros. too. I mean it has been two months and not one trace of evidence has come arise. Why bury or dump her body on the island when you have the vastness of shark-infested waters for miles upon miles. I believe she was as they say date-raped or something along those lines, Van der Sloot killed her, called the brothers on a cell-phone and together they corroborated her death and perhaps called the DJ who had the boat to take her body out to sea. With waters as warm as they are, it is a breeding-ground for sharks. Therefore no evidence would ever come about, it's quite sad, but very likely. My heart goes out to Natalee's family every day these bastards are remaining their silence and not co-operating with police/FBI..goddamn' shame that the FBI can not get more involved. How can they let this Van der Sloot just walk come September 4.?
