Big hunt for al Qaeda who escaped U.S.-run Afghan prison: Hundreds of U.S. and Afghan troops backed by helicopters hunted on Tuesday for four Arab al Qaeda militants who made the first ever escape from a heavily guarded detention centre at the main U.S. base in Afghanistan.
London investigators focus on hub: British investigators are focusing on the busy London transportation hub of King's Cross in their search for clues into last Thursday's bombings, which officials say have killed at least 52 people.
Blair rejects inquiry calls but hints at new terror laws: TONY Blair yesterday braced Britain for new anti-terrorism laws, if it is found that extra powers for ministers or police might have prevented last Thursday's attacks in London.
Officials probe Zarqawi link in London attack: Investigators in London are probing whether Iraqi explosives -- possibly provided by Al-Qaeda's top agent in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi -- were used in last week's terror bombings.

U.S. troops kill 14 insurgents in north Iraq: U.S. soldiers killed 14 insurgents in two days of fighting in a strategic northern city, the American military said Monday, and gunmen killed 10 Iraqi soldiers in the central Sunni heartland. This, as a hard-line Sunni clerical group accused Iraqi government commandos of torturing and killing 10 Sunni Arab civilians in Baghdad, fueling sectarian tensions between the country's two major religious groups.
Blair vows to defeat terrorists as bomb toll rises: Prime Minister Tony Blair vowed Britain would not be defeated by terrorists as he fended off calls for an inquiry into whether intelligence services could have averted bombings that killed at least 52 people.

U.K. urges EU to seize terror assets(hat tip - Debra): Europe must step up efforts to seize terrorists' assets in the wake of the London attacks, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown said Tuesday. Speaking in Brussels, Brown told EU finance ministers that problems would continue if supplies of money into terrorism were not cut off. The European Union agreed a plan to coordinate anti-terror efforts after the Madrid bombings last year; the chancellor now wants it implemented immediately.
