Natalee Holloway Updates(Updated)Topics: Natalee Holloway
Heres some of the latest information on Natalee Holloway.(latest updates are in extended post)
From Scared Monkeys:
According to Fox News, The three "person's of interest" then witnesses, have been arrested overnight in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
Update: 10:15 am - From the Birmingham News:
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Aruban police arrested three men Thursday who admitted giving a ride to an Alabama teenager who has been missing for more than a week, the attorney general said.
The three men were previously questioned in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 18, and described as "persons of interest." They told police they dropped off Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., at her hotel early May 30, but Holiday Inn employees say security cameras did not record her return.
Attorney General Caren Janssen said the three were arrested at 6 a.m. She refused to identify the three, but authorities previously have described them as students -- two Surinamese and a native of the Netherlands.
The attorney general's office had said previously the three were considered witnesses and not suspects.
Janssen refused to say whether the three were connected to two men previously detained in Holloway's disappearance, saying more information would be released later Thursday. A judge ruled Wednesday that there was sufficient cause to keep holding the two former hotel security guards.
Aruban police arrested three more suspects in the case of the missing American honors student Thursday, the attorney general said.
Attorney General Caren Janssen said police arrested three men that police had previously questioned and released in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway.
Authorities have described the three as students - two Surinamese and a native of the Netherlands - who told police they dropped off Holloway at her hotel around 2 a.m. on May 30. Hotel employees, however, say that security cameras did not record her return.
Holiday Inn is providing rooms for the family and a private aircraft provided by McWane, Inc. has been used to ferry supporters onto the island of Aruba.
The support isn't just emotional. The family has been given free rooms at the Holiday Inn, the hotel where 124 Mountain Brook High School graduates had stayed with seven chaperones. Anonymous donors in Birmingham have put up $20,000 in reward money and the City of Mountain Brook anted up $20,000, bringing the total reward money to at least $75,000.
A private jet provided by McWane Inc. has made at least two trips to deliver supporters. Leigh Karagus, the mother of a fellow graduate who was on the trip, offered to pay for three plane tickets for friends who couldn't make the jet - and then Delta chipped in half the fare.
Also, Allegro Aruba Resort's Statement Conflicts With Eyewitness Press Report:
A press release issued today by Occidental's Allegro Aruba Resort appears to be contradicted by a previously reported eyewitness account by an employee at MSNBC.
Today Occidental Hotels & Resorts' Allegro Aruba Resort issued a statement through Business Wire claiming that contrary to several press reports, murder and kidnapping suspects Nick John, 30, and Abraham Jones, 28, are not employees.
Again, from Scared Monkeys, we have some insight on how Aruba's justice system works:
Most Americans who are watching the Natalee Holloway disappearance in Aruba are trying to understand the legal process that is happening . We understand the laws of the United States, and are confused by the procedures that are going on in Aruba.
So it was my good fortune to receive an email from a gentleman in the Netherlands who took the time to research and explain the laws of the Netherlands that the Aruban government follows. Here is the email in full....
The Dutch suspect, Joran Andreas Petrus Van Der Sloot(tickle site now down), a student at Aruba International School, came out of his upper-class home in the northern Montana neighborhood of Oranjestad on Thursday with his head covered in a blue-and-green towel.
Van Der Sloot's father is a prominent official in the Aruban justice system studying to be a judge. The younger Van Der Sloot, born Aug. 6, 1987, may have been romantically involved with the 18-year-old Holloway the night she disappeared, May 30.
Aruba Attorney General Caren Janssen (search) said the three were arrested at 6 a.m. She refused to say whether they were connected to the two men already being detained in the disappearance, saying more information would be released later Thursday.
Update - 8PM
Dan at Riehl World View posts that "Natalee Holloway Suspect May Have Contacted Blogger Hours Before His Arrest. " Dan believes the blogger to be Joran Van Der Sloot.
"The Dutch suspect, Joran Andreas Petrus Van Der Sloot, a student at Aruba International School, came out of his home in the upper-class neighbourhood of Oranjestad on Thursday with his head covered in a blue-and-green towel. Police identified the Surinamese brothers only as Satish and Deepak K.
The face of Van Der Sloot is blurred in keeping with a commitment made to an emailer from last night who claimed to be Joran Van Der Sloot. Prior to altering the image, it was indeed Van Der Sloot as I have come to see him through his now down tickle.com website."
Dan's story behind this post is interesting and well worth reading.
Also - from yesterday, Natalee is not the only woman missing in the Carribean

I believe Natalee Holloway is the victim of illegal drugs. Who would take a high school place like this. The following is part of posting on Department of State's, the entire warning is to large.
Aruba. Aruba is a transshipment point for increasing quantities of heroin, and to a lesser extent cocaine, moving north, mainly from Colombia, to the U.S. and secondarily to Europe. Drugs move north via cruise ships and the multiple daily flights to the U.S. and Europe. While the transshipment of heroin is of growing concern, evidence in 2004 did not support a finding that drugs entering the U.S. from Aruba were in an amount sufficient to have a significant effect on the U.S., but the eastern and southern Caribbean is an area of concern to the U.S. The island attracts drug traffickers with its good infrastructure, excellent flight connections, and relatively light sentences for drug-related crimes served in prisons with relatively good living conditions. This problem is further promulgated by the Netherlands Antilles’ law enforcement successes in Curacao during 2004, which necessitated a change in route on the part of the traffickers in the region.

I think this girl is clearly the victim of what our society has become. Teenagers these days have no sense of morality or social values. Where has the decency and good morals gone? I think something must be done NOW to prevent further trageties with our teens.
On a seperate topic, I think that a " blue eyed, blonde girl" is the ideal pray for a black-man, who wants nothing but to raise on the social-hyrarchy by taking advantage of a blonde girl. I think that the black community should be segregaded in one and only area, and that is "dating". It sickens me to know that a white girl would choose to get inside a car with unknown black men. I believe, that because in AMERICA black rights and "affirmitive action" are taught so strongly to our teens; and this is the exact reason why her guard was down. When in fact, the black's are the problem everywhere in the world, and a beautiful blonde girl to be even seen talking, let alone being with a black man should be seen as outrageous.

Well it is about time these aruban authorities get on the ball and allow the FBI to review all the facts, evidence etc. I think that Aruba's politicians, judges are finally wising up to the boggled mess that they have created with the case of Natallee's disappearance, etc. Not a good thing for the tourism of Aruba. You are a disgrace to all concerned. You should apologize to Beth and the rest of the Holloway.Twitty Families.
