Mosque "Desecrated" by bomb: No Newsweek story here, it was done by Muslims!Topics: Middle East News and Perspectives
Where's Newsweek when you need them?
(...) A SUICIDE bomber yesterday killed at least 20 people at the funeral of a Muslim cleric, who was assassinated after criticising the ousted Taleban regime.
(...) General Mohammed Akram Khakrezwal - the chief of Kabul's police and a close ally of the president, Hamid Karzai, was among those killed in the attack, which the government blamed on the al-Qaeda terrorist network. More than 70 people were wounded in the blast at a mosque in the southern city of Kandahar.
(...) The bomber detonated a large explosive device strapped to his body at around 9am local time in an area of the Abdul Rab Akhundzada mosque, where mourners were removing their shoes.
(...) Hours after the blast the governor of Kandahar, Gul Agha Sherzai, said that the suicide bomber's body had been recovered and documents found on it indicated that he was an Arab. "The attacker was a member of al-Qaeda," he said.
(...) Witnesses at the scene of the attack reported widespread carnage inside the mosque. "I saw bodies scattered, blood all over the place. Dead policemen were also lying there," said a shop owner.
These are the kind of people that want to be your neighbors! When are the Muslim moderates going to take back their faith?
