Michael Jackson Cleared After 14-Week Child Molesting Trial: Interesting!Topics: Follies of the Mainstream Media
In my one and only post on the 'got off scot-free' child molester, Tim Worstall has the best post I've seen(although his actual emphasis was on the language used by the NYT). Refering to the headline in the NYT(and subsequently in this post), Tim ask's if he was being deluded or was it the sub-editor who wrote it:
"I read that as saying that they molested a child for 14 weeks and then cleared Michael Jackson. A rather odd form of deciding guilt or innocence, really."
I think that Tim's comments sound a lot like the Michael Jackson I've heard so much about - just put in a better perspective.
Mike, commenting on Tim's post writes: "As has often been said before, Britain and America are divided by a common language, but as that language is itself moderated by grammar, syntax, linguistics and sentence structure, we can but assume that they tried to molest a child for fourteen weeks, and then cleared Michael Jackson!"
If I were told that Michael Jackson molested a child for fourteen weeks, and was then cleared, I'd find it quite par for the course in celebrity trials held in California.
