Orianagate/4: Oriana Fallaci tries her trial

Topics: Understanding Islam

The International Blog Swarm Continues!

This is a call for all who "have the right and the duty to take a public stand on the Fallaci case"
-  you know them, bloggers and blog readers, "the journalists, writers(citizen and professional), intellectuals, and citizens  who "refuse the politically correct and have the guts to walk against the wind." We need to instigate a grass roots demand for judicial sanity, and demand that Oriana Fallaci is allowed the freedom to speak and write her mind, regardless of how loud Muslims complain about what is left of our freedom of speech! For as she goes, so do the rest of us!

The following post was written in Italian by Andrea at his blog, The Right Nation, in Italy. He has gratiously emailed us a translation for posting here at Hyscience. I hope that other U.S. blogs will help to  disseminate her post in order that as many people as possible learn of the dangers of judicial appeasement and political correctness regarding Muslims that are facing not only Italy and Europe, but also America. (Background on this story may be found here, here, and here)

The first excerpt of the post is taken from a major italian newspaper(known for its influence - not for its sold copies), "Il Foglio", from an article by Christian Rocca, an italian journalist who lives in New York and is also a major italian blogger (www.ilfoglio.it/camillo).

Fallaci tries her trial
"This trial is not against me", says Oriana Fallaci. "It's not even a trial wanted by a judge who's looking for publicity, by a man who goes out from his small provincial world and finally sees his name published on newspapers. It's an attempt to create a Case, the Fallaci Case. A trial which tries to condemn a known person to condemn others, later on. I will be condemned. And, in a way, paradoxically, it will be a good thing. Something which will help to clarify things, to show that we're loosing our freedom. Because my sentence will not only be the satisfaction of some judges' vanity, the same judges who, not being able to separate the Law from their ideological or partisan choices, would pretend to replace the political power with themselves. It will open a path that, without too much effort, will help  to condemn for "opinion crimes" the people who " not like the judges " have the right and the duty to take a public stand. Journalists, writers, intellectuals, citizens who refuse the politically correct and have the guts to walk against the wind. (Christian Rocca, Il Foglio)

Your Honor, I'm guilty too!
(Robinik)

Appeal in favour of Oriana Fallaci's freedom of speech(Judge Armando Grasso may be emailed HERE...)

[...] Using the excuse of "offences to the islamic religion," from a religion that doesn't have an official hierarchy of religious authorities, it's pure madness, despotism, arrogance. And careless, lacking in cultural and spiritual roots, it's a Western World that with its naivete has permitted to the islamic fundamentalism to conquer the mosques' network

[...] imposing the dictatorship of a minority against the majority. To censor feelings, reasonings, expressions and books in the name of the "islamically correct" means to put the West under submission (to Islam)
