Liberals Not Eggheaded Enough?
Topics:Jonathan Bunch criticizes liberals
for spending too much time worrying about their "narratives" and their
"framing" of issues. Jonathan suggests that, "liberals need to get to the
nut of their problem: That their ideas themselves need changing." He
characterizes Democrats as a party in bondage to stagnant and dying ideas, and
contrasts them with the intellectually nimble Republican party with it's
bold and brilliant, conservative leadership.
I find much agreement with Jonathan's analysis of the Dem's problem via Dean is that he(and via Dean, the Dems) perceives that it's not the underlying idea in any contemporary political debate that matters--it's the words used to convey it. In other words, mine, they're all talk and no solution, just against whatever the Republicans are for!
