The Mechanism of Action of Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Secondary Prevention Post-Myocardial Infarction
Topics: Terri Schiavo's Life CountsThis is my chance to plug my favorite fish oil, Carlson's liquid fish oil, as a great source of eicosahexaenoic and docosahexaenoic omega-3 fatty acids. Among other great benefits, omega-3 fatty acids from fish and fish oils can protect against coronary heart disease, which is still the most common cause of death in Western economies. Evidence from epidemiological and case cohort studies indicate that consumption of fatty fish and omega-3 fatty acids reduces the risk of cardiovascular mortality. For the record, I don't own any stock in Carlson's. and they didn't even pay me for this plug.
