Mel Gibson Faxes Support Of Terri (Updated)

Hollywood actor/director Mel Gibson has lent his support to the family of Terri Schindler-Schiavo, encouraging the Schindler family to "never give up and continue to pray".

Terri's father, Robert Schindler Sr., told supporters at a rally Saturday at the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park where Terri is a resident that Gibson had personally telephoned the family Friday.

Shortly after the telephone conversation, Gibson, producer of "The Passion of Christ", sent a fax to The Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation with a statement to be read at Saturday's rally.

In the fax to the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Mel Gibson has made his feelings on the Terri Schiavo situation known.

Best known for his role in "Braveheart" and his production of "The Passion of the Christ", Gibson penned the following message in support of Terri's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, in their quest to protect her life:
