Jackson Prays With Terri Schiavo's Parents (Updated with Senator Call List)

Another liberal joins with conservatives to provide a voice for the voiceless!

"I feel so passionate about this injustice being done, how unnecessary it is to deny her a feeding tube, water, not even ice to be used for her parched lips," said Jackson, who has run for president as a Democrat. "This is a moral issue and it transcends politics and family disputes."

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - The parents of Terri Schiavo met and prayed Tuesday with the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who called her impending death "an injustice."

Joining the conservatives who have rallied to the parents' cause, the liberal Jackson said he would call state senators who opposed legislation that would have reinserted Schiavo's feeding tube and ask them to reconsider.

Terri Schiavo was in her 12th day without food and water. Her husband and guardian, Michael Schiavo, has insisted that he was carrying out her wishes by having her feeding tube pulled. His lawyer said Monday that an autopsy was planned to show the extent of Terri Schiavo's brain damage.

Jackson's arrival Tuesday was greeted by some applause and cries of "This is about civil rights."

The autopsy has been ordered. I hope we're not naive enough to accept results soley based on the word of one local, politically entrenched coroner.

RE: reporting the Terri Schiavo case...CCN printed this misleading story (see below). Please show you're better than them by published a more accurate version of the truth.

"PINELLAS PARK, Florida (CNN) -- Terri Schiavo's husband has asked that an autopsy be performed on his wife after she dies so that a full report can be done on the extent of her brain damage, an attorney for Michael Schiavo said Monday."

CLARIFICATION: An autopsy is done to prove the cause of death; if Terri dies the cause will likely be listed as 'death from the effects of starvation and dehydration'. If cerebral exam is desired to determine the state of Terri's brain, it must be performed by a board certified forensic neuropathologist and is really not part of an autopsy per se. The office of the Pinnellas medical examiner (Dr. Thogmartin) has agreed to performed the autopsy but his office declines comment as to whether or not Dr. Thogmartin has the qualifications necessary to due a cerebral examination.

Please tell all media: tv, radio, papers, etc.

P.S. If Felos hears about this, I'm sure his goons will be frantically scouting for a member of the Hemlock Society who happens to be a neuropathologist, but time's not on his side in this case.

The Carter Center has been quiet. Why? They support "human rights". Jimmy Carter is a Christian! Where is his voice? Why is he silent?

I've tried to email them, but not even the courtesy of a response. "A voice crying in the wilderness" ???

Even Jesse Jackson has defended the right to life!

Please email the Carter Center and have them weigh in as friend or foe. If anyone has President Carter's email... please post it!
