Jackson: More Senators Back Bid to Save Terri - We May Have Enough Votes!

Topics: Terri Schiavo's Life Counts

- Breaking News from NewsMax
Rev. Jesse Jackson said Tuesday afternoon that he has persuaded two Florida state senators to change their votes on a bill to save Terri Schiavo, leaving the measure just one vote shy of the majority necessary for passage.

"Two of them have committed to meeting with Gov. Jeb Bush. They say that they're flexible if they can find acceptable emergency language," Jackson told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity.

Targeting members of the state senate's black caucus in a bid to save Schiavo, Jackson explained: "While we didn't have the specific language today, if I could just get them to shift their will to do whatever [we can] within the law to help her live, that would be a victory."

"They've made that commitment," the civil rights leader added. "I hope it turns into something concrete, signed by morningtime."

Asked if he thought he'd convert the additional vote that would guarantee passage, Jackson said: "If we get two - with the help of Gov. Jeb Bush, we can get three. . . If I was able to persuade two - if he could persuade one, we can change that vote."

The top Democrat said he had contacted the governor's office and was awaiting a return call, saying, "I hope that he will call me and I hope to share with him my position."

Jackson said he would return to Florida tomorrow if he determines it is "the best, most effective way" to save Schiavo.

"I will fly to Tallahassee or Washington or anyplace," he said.

There is more developing news regarding a new appeal.

Vickie there are a lot of people on all sides of the political and religious spectrum, from left wingers and atheists to right wingers, conservatives and ultra conservatives, as well as those who profess no religious or political affiliation, who agree with you as far as this case is concerned.

There are so many things wrong that it is not funny that so many statutes have been disregarded in this case. I agree the fact that this man is committing adultery with his concubine is evidence that he does not have Terri's best interests in his mind.

Also, we need to get into the ear of the MSM that Terri Schiavo did not have bulimia as it is claimed by Michael. Her medical report from the hospital states that she was treated for an enteric infection with FLAGYL. The infection that she had would have caused both vomiting and diarrhorea and that alone would have upset the potassium balance of her blood. The conclusion from that blood test indicated a level of malnourishment but it did not conclude that she was bulimic.

In other words, both claims by Michael Schiavo in the malpractice suit are false. Terri did not have a heart attack brought on by bulimia. She did not have bulimia. She had a stomach virus, possibily guardia, which is a very nasty parasite.

The facts that were hidden in that court case indicate that there was an attempt to strangle Terri by a person known or unknown to her. The bone scan done in 1991 indicated that she had a fracture at L1. The first two CT scans were normal. The first abnormal scan was approximately one month after the normal scans. This indicates that an underlying injury at the time had become worse or it could mean that someone injured her at the hospital (that is purely speculation). It is also possible that Terri suffered a closed head injury that is similar to shaken baby syndrome. Michael, in evidence at the malpractice trial admitted that he did shake Terri. This is a condition that might not show up immediately, but could cause later brain abnormality.

There are questions being raised about the 1996 CT scan. The biggest question being asked is whether this brain scan does in fact belong to Terri Schiavo. If there was a switch of the scans then false evidence has been presented. Clue: Terri did not have a shunt, but there is the tip of a shunt in a copy of that scan that is on the Internet.

All of these facts calls into question the diagnosis of Dr. Cranford. It appears that he was happy to review reports that were either useless or were false. He spent 45 minutes with Terri Schiavo and did not follow his own protocol on diagnosing her brain condition.

I agree that there has been a travesty of justice in this case. Keep praying and hopefully people will keep investigating their findings.
