Bobby Schindler to Speak at Princeton University Pro-Life GroupTopics: Terri Schiavo's Life Counts
Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler, will be the guest of the campus group, Princeton Pro-Life on
MondayWednesday, March 2.
Terri Schindler Schiavo is at the center of controversy in Florida as her family fights to prevent her husband from starving her to death. A Florida judge has ruled that Terri Schiavo's husband (who lives with, and has had 2 children with another woman) is her sole guardian, and has the legal authority to remove hydration and nutrition from Terri. The court has ordered that Terri is no longer to be given food or water starting March 18, at 1 PM.
Bobby Schindler, Terri's brother, will discuss the situation, giving an inside look to the legal and personal battles his family has been fighting. In addition, moral philosophy professor Chris Tollefsen will discuss the moral issues surrounding euthanasia, nutrition and hydration.
Who: Bobby Schindler, Terri Schiavo's brother, and Professor Chris Tollefsen
When: Wednesday March 2, at 8 PM
Where: Princeton, New Jersey, Princeton University, McCosh Hall, Room 10, This event is open to the press and public at no charge.
Why: Discourse on "Euthanasia, Judicial Homicide, and Terri Schiavo"
"We are honored that Bobby Schindler can take the time to come speak with us, especially with March 18th looming near. We look forward to hearing the inside story of what Mr. Schindler and his family have been going through for the past few years. There are many conflicting reports in the media, and we hope that Mr. Schindler will dispel the myths surrounding his sister, especially about her being in a vegetative state. As was most recently highlighted by the success of Million Dollar Baby, our culture is fraught with the belief that life is not intrinsically valuable, only instrumentally so. Terri's family is a poignant counterexample to that notion. With Mr. Schindler's personal discussion and Professor Tollefsen's more general discourse, we hope to help Princeton students realize the truth about the intrinsic value of human life." -- Ashley Pavlic, President of Princeton Pro-Life
