FBI Nabs Saudi Al Qaeda
Topics: War on TerrorI missed this one yesterday but it's interesting enough to take a look at again today. I'm sure that anyone reading this has wondered if the foreign military personnel from Arab countries that we train at U.S. bases aren't either future enemies or terrorists.
The New York Daily News
reports that the FBI nabbed a Saudi military official with ties to al
Qaeda. The Saudi was arrested just after he finished training with the
U.S. Air Force:
FBI agents stopped and quizzed the suspect and his family at a U.S. airport as they were leaving the country. The military man was allowed to return to Saudi Arabia, where he was detained and interrogated further, sources said.
As a result, arrests of other Al Qaeda operatives were made overseas, sources said.
According to the Daily News, some sources questioned that the arrest led to the arrest of 51 others as an Air Force general claimed.
