Eason Jordan Quits

Topics: National News

It all started when Rony Abovitz blogged that Eason Jordan of CNN accused the U.S. military of murdering journalists in Iraq during a panel at Davos.

If I didn't know better, maybe, I'd say that it's begining to look like trying to pull the wool over the blogosphere is like tugging on .....

Or is it just begging to get blog swarmed by Blog Storm Troopers...

CNN chief news executive Eason Jordan quit Friday amidst a furor over remarks he made in Switzerland last month about journalists killed by the U.S. military in Iraq.

Jordan said he was quitting to avoid CNN being "unfairly tarnished" by the controversy.

During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum (news - web sites) last month, Jordan said he believed that several journalists who were killed by coalition forces in Iraq had been targeted.

From Powerline - On February 7, I wrote: "This story is playing out in excruciatingly slow motion, but the ending has already been written: Eason Jordan is finished."

From the Political Teen we're hearing, "If you give out fake, asinine stories get ready to be roasted by the blogosphere. Did this guy not learn by 'Rathergate'? I would like to congratulate The Captain on extensive and accurate reporting of the Eason story."

Blogs for Bush has a list of bloggers covering the resignation.

La Shawn Barber notes in an AP report that an "online petition" was part of the pressure brought to bear.
