Blog Picks for morning reading
Topics: Blogger Round-upYesterday and today are light blogging days, but I do want to catch-up with some friends around the blogosphere. My light blogging has a little to do with post Iraqi election lull in the news since it seems like the Iraqi election success has sent the MSM into a state of dormancy and the democrats into temporary insanity (Kennedy and Kerry responses to the election success).
But now the Dummycrats seem to have found a new harp to play on - getting our troops out of Iraq. Ted Kennedy and friends would like the U.S. to do to the Iraqis what the U.S. previously did to the Vietnamese - walk away with the job undone. Note that to this day Vietnam is still not a democracy, yet in a relatively short period of time President Bush and the armed forces of the United States of America along with it's "coalition of the willing" have brought democracy to Iraq and in so doing have introduced a what has some promise of being a new dawn in the Middle East - an epiphany of freedom to those who've never known it.
I'd love to play poker with Ted Kennedy - provided of course there was some limit on the pot since his wallet is somewhat thicker than mine, at least in the begining of the game. By the end Ted would have little left. Can you imagine telling the enemy that if you just keep fighting and hanging on until "date announced," we will leave and you can have the place unopposed? What is their incentive to come to the table? Not to mention that leaving Iraq unfinished and before the people of Iraq are ready to handle their own security is not an option for the U.S. if we are to continue to have any credibility in the Middle East or if we want to win the War on Terror. Going the way that Ted the mouth and John "I have a plan" kerry would like us to go is to have us hand over to the Islamists the keys to our cities and homes.
But let's recover from our little side trip to the whacko world of the left and get back on the road to our visit with some good friends and fellow bloggers.
Digger's Realm addresses "Immigration Status Allowed To Factor Into Criminal Sentencing In Arizona," which is also covered at the Tar Pit. Cranky Neocon has several posts on the dummycrat's reactions to the election in Iraq. InTheBullPen writes of the protests in Brazil that deride President Bush as the number one terrorist - the logic of which escapes me but no one knows what makes Brazilians tick anyway. In the Agora writes about a sex education report and obvious flaws in the research model - an issue that all competent scientists must be careful to address. Powerline posts on the Reid and Pelosi refusal to jump on the sinking boat of Ted Kennedy's "pull the troops out now" diatribe (of course to their credit, Reid and Pelosi are probably sober more often the fine senator from Mass.). And don't miss the Jawa Report's post on "Egypt Attempts Cover Up of Christian Murders in New Jersey."
