16 trucks carrying weapons en route from Iran discovered in Iraq
Topics: Middle East News and PerspectivesWhy this isn't on every TV news spot in the country amazes me. According to an Iraqi Defence Ministry source, 16 trucks carrying weapons and large sums of money from Iran were discovered over the past few days en route to Iraq. Speaking to the Iraqi daily Al-Mashreq, the source said that the weapons included rifles, mortar rounds, and explosives. He said that those arrested admitted to being agents of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), and said that lodging had been provided for them in Samara, Balad, Najaf, and Latifiyeh. The individuals revealed that they work working on behalf of the MOIS in conjunction with Iran's Fajr Forces. During interrogation the Iranian agents also revealed the names of a number of Fajr commanders and MOIS agents whom they worked for.
You can bet that these MOIS agents were all too happy to spill their guts after several hours of polite conversation and positive re-enforcement to enhance their self esteem. Of course, thanks to their enhanced self esteem and as a result of several hours of polite conversation and an endless buffet of Middle Eastern food, including desserts, the information they provided most certainly helped to save countless lives and prevent even more bloodshed than will occur with the weapons and money that has already arrived from Iran - assuming this didn't just fall off the turnip truck recently and not before.
