'Serious danger' Iraq could become terror haven
Topics: Middle East News and PerspectivesFrom London via Australia comes the absolutely fast-breaking astonishing news that if the US pulls it's troops out of Iraq too early the terrorists will think they died and went to heaven, and that Iraq is that heaven (actually haven). Wow, I am amazed that this is the case, no, not that Iraq would become a terrorist haven, rather, that this is news! Where do these guys that write these stories hang out?

Iraq risks becoming a haven for terrorists if the US pulls out
before local security forces are ready, a senior Iraqi official
warned yesterday.
"Unless we get it right that is a serious danger," Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations, Samir Shakir Sumaidaie, told the BBC.

He said there were still criminals in the ranks of police.
"That emphasises the point of getting things right, of rebuilding properly and training the Iraqi security forces with outside support," he said.
"To just turn back and leave on the basis of a certain date
commitment would be courting disaster."
