Miracle of little girl plucked from debris

Miracles do happen, and in the aftermath of the tsunami we have seen one after another. Here we have yet another story of a child's survival  in tsunami-ravaged Banda Aceh.

WHEN Didi Agustinus first saw the body of a little girl lying among 100 others in the mud - he thought she was dead.

But thinking of his own daughter and hoping that another man would do the same for her, he decided to pluck the body from the debris to ensure the family would get it back.

It was only after he had picked her up and the lifeless body moved slightly that he realised she was alive.

For 41-year-old Didi it was like a miracle. It was 2pm and six hours after a gigantic wave had broken over the shores of northwest Indonesia.     Read more...
