Iraqi Pilgrims Protest Delay in Departure

It's good news, and bad news. First the bad - some Iraqis won't make it home from the Haj to vote. The good news is that they want to get home to vote.

MAKKAH, 26 January 2005 -- Over 60 Iraqi pilgrims took to the streets in Shisha district here just before Maghreb prayers yesterday, demanding to be returned home to Iraq in time for the elections set for Feb. 2. The pilgrims were angered by what they say is incompetence on the part of the Iraqi Haj organizers which will prevent 13,000 Iraqi pilgrims from casting votes in the upcoming elections.
