Suicide Bomber Wearing Iraqi Soldier Uniform
Topics: Middle East News and Perspectives-Associated Press
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The suicide bomber believed to have carried out this
week's devastating attack on a U.S. military dining tent, killing more
than 20 people, was probably wearing an Iraqi military uniform, a U.S.
general said Thursday.
Jawa Report and inTheBullPen have the story.
The insurgents in Northern Iraq have pulled the uniform trick before. On Nov 14 the St. Petersburg Times online (about as liberal and one-sided as the NY Times) reported:
As U.S. forces pressed their attacks in southern Fallujah, Marines in the northern districts were hunting for about a dozen insurgents dressed in Iraqi National Guard uniforms who were reportedly wandering the city streets.
I previously suggested that the insurgent/terrorist/Islamofascist was probably wearing an Iraqi National Guard uniform but only because of the SPT article and I would rather have been wrong. Terrrorists have long before now infiltrated the ING and Iraqi police units. Jawa Report and inTheBullPen have excellent coverage of this event, so I suggest you click over to their posts for more information.
