Church (in Australia) found to have vilified Muslims

Topics: War on Terror - the issues.

When I saw this today I almost didn't believe it. An evangelical Christian ministry in Australia has been found to have vilified Islam during a seminar and in a newsletter which mocked the religion. In passing down his decision the judge said that during the seminar, Pastor Scot had claimed that the Koran promoted violence, killing and looting, and that Muslims were liars and demons. Now I don't know about the demons part, but there is absolutely no doubt that as is interpreted by Muslim extremists, what the pastor said about the Koran is true. Although I don't agree with the pastor's exact words and method as I understand it from the article, and also might not agree with his characterizing all Muslims as demons and liars, I absolutely agree that what he said about radical Islamists - and a very great number of Muslims endorse the ideas of radical Islam, are indeed true. And yes, lying and all measures of deceit are fair game in the Islamic agenda. This is the truth and these are facts, they are not conjecture. The judge is wrong and so is the law.

Imagine that, I wonder what possibly motivated Pastor Scot to do such a thing just because much of what he seems to have said is true! What seemed to irk the judge the most was that Pastor Scot also had said that Muslims had a plan to overrun western democracy by violence and terror and wanted to turn Australia into an Islamic nation, and he exaggerated Muslim population numbers in Australia. I could name a great number of bloggers, journalists, political leaders of many countries, ex-Muslims, Islamists, Muslim Imams, and everyday ordinary citizens that the judge would also have to pass down a little judgment upon for the same thing.

The Australian "Religious and Racial Tolerance Act" is an example of how such laws not only prevent free speech but also tend to result from a politically correct reaction of liberals to the Muslim threat to the Western world, a reaction that results in the quieting of voices of warning against the dangers of Islam. The "religious vilification laws, no matter how well intended, are exactly what the Islamists want until they can get sufficient foothold in our society so as to turn all non-Muslims into second class citizens. The pastor is wrong to preach hate, if he is, but the Australian law is also wrong for preventing an outpouring of alarm that is necessary for us to stop the Islamic threat.  Read the article...
