Blogger California Yankee Suffers House Fire

Topics: National News

California Yankee has been temporarily interrupted by a house fire. Although the family and pets escaped uninjured, his home suffered significant damage that included major smoke damage also. He says that the firefighters did a great job, but also commented on the mess left afterwards.

Both blogger and family are currently being cared for by friends and hope to find temporary quarters for the duration of the rebuilding soon. Although there is no good time for a fire, Christmas time is an especially difficult time to be unsettled and also have to worry about property damage. But at least everyone including the pets are safe. I am sure that the rest of you join with me in wishing CaYankee and his family a speedy recovery from the incident and hope that he and his family will still have a Merry Christmas.

Note: The blogosphere certainly hopes that his computer suffered no damage. We look forward to his rejoining the ranks of the pajama crowd. He does warn us though that in the meantime, posting at California Yankee is likely to be sporadic.

Thanks for the kind words. My laptop seems to be working, but now it must be shared.
