A Tribute To A Fallen Warrior

Topics: Middle East News and Perspectives

Michelle Malkin is posting a special request from the family of Specialist David Mahlenbrock, a 20-year-old combat engineer who was killed in Iraq last Friday when a roadside bomb detonated. The family is asking radio music stations to play Toby Keith's "American Soldier" on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 1pm, in memory of Specialist David Mahlenbrock, who will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on that date/time.

According to military blogger Blackfive, Specialist Mahlenbrock wrote a letter before his death requesting that Keith's song be played at his funeral in case he was killed in the line of duty. More details here and a link to radio stations here. If you haven't read BlackFive's post entitled "A Warror's Last Request," you need to read it now.

Michelle also says that It would also be nice for both national and local radio talk show hosts who broadcast during the 1pm to take time out to salute a fallen soldier. She is asking that we please get on their case!

Again, on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1pm - Encourage radio stations to play Toby Keith's "American Soldier" in memory of Specialist David Mahlenbrock. He leaves behind a wife and infant daughter.

Hyscience will be posting a tribute in memory of Specialist David Mahlenbrock  on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 1 pm. I invite all bloggers to join me in doing so. Most of us have the ability set the time and date of a post, so if we will be otherwise occupied, we can pre-write the tribute. We should also add our gratitude to David and all of the other men and women of the armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and the civilized world. Let's help to make this an Internet-wide tribute to David, and also in memory of all our fallen hero's in this war on terror.
