Real Marine Combat Video Unedited

Topics: Middle East News and Perspectives

A viewer on Australian TV comments:
"While watching Lateline on Australian ABC television there was a report from Fallujah
. In the story they showed a marine saying, "I've just injured one, he's between the two buildings". At that moment another marine walks over to the gap between the two houses, he then climbs on a forty four gallon drum aims his gun at the injured Iraqi and fires one shot."

"The marine then climbs back down saying, "He's done"."

Unfortunately, a pacifist provides comments about "war crimes." In the middle of a horrific firefight how in the hell are the Marines suppose to react to people trying to kill them. Be forewarned that the video is very violent. Comments will be much appreciated, especially after seeing both the video and the pacifist's comments. The firefight in the video occured on Nov 11.

The video, although a good one, is available on an "unfriendly" somewhat anti-war, anti-administration site. The link is HERE...

The pacifist is way overdoing it. There is no video of the actual final kill and we know no disposition of the enemy combatant. I am a US Army Infantry offider and have received the appropriate blocks of instruction of the Law of Land Warfare. From what I saw the, you could construe the final shot as the final assualt on an objective. We routinely train to "double-tap" (2 shots to torso or head) all combatants we initially come across on an assualt - no taking chances on an unsecured objective. The only quarter given is to combtants clearly offering to surrender. However, once you reach your limit of advance, or the obective is secured and you clearly control the terrain it is a violation of the Law of Land Warare and the UCMJ to shoot wounded, unconscious, or combatants that pose no "imminent threat" to life, limb, or eyesight. Based on the limited info in the video, I as an Infantryman would have done the same . The wretching peacenik in their comfy living room gagging on snippets of war and unable to distinguish between US Marines (lawful combatants under the Geneva Accords) and terrorists (unlawful combatants) has my contempt and can rot in his vomit.
